FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Below are some of the most commonly asked questions about the redevelopment.
If you have any queries, please do email 29newend@londoncommunications.co.uk and a member of the team will get back to you.
Q: When is the redevelopment expected to be complete?
A: We anticipate that the development will be complete in 2018. Q: When will demolition be starting on the site? A: All works carried out to date have been enabling works – works to prepare the site for demolition and construction. Demolition works will be beginning week commencing 12 September subject to receiving all final and necessary consents from Camden Council. Q: When are noisy works allowed to be carried out? A: Camden Council enforces a strict policy on noisy works. These can only be carried out in two hour periods, with a two hour break in-between. Noisy works will not begin before 8am.
Q: What hours are construction vehicles allowed to visit the site?
A: There will be no loading of vehicles prior to 9:30am. All deliveries will cease before 3:00pm, and vehicles will have moved away from the site by this time. Q: Why have you had to suspend parking bays along New End? A: Parking bays have been suspended to allow construction vehicles to safely park near to the site.
Q: What route will vehicles use to exit the site?
A: Vehicles will be leaving via Well Road and exiting onto East Heath Road. Lorries are kept to a smaller size due to restricted exit routes. This route will be revisited once a temporary traffic order (TTO) is in place. No vehicles will be turning on New End.
Q: Will you have traffic marshals supervising the site and key traffic points?
A: We have had 2 traffic marshals on site whilst we have been erecting the hoarding and barriers have been positioned to provide us with safe access and to close the pavement during the works. We will maintain these barriers and place them out when we are having our lorry deliveries so that we segregate the traffic flows. Traffic marshals will be positioned at the Heath Street entrance to direct traffic, and along New End to bank all vehicles into the parking bays. They will also help manage the segregation between the traffic vehicles and pedestrians, and the construction traffic and the general residential traffic.
Q: Will there be contact details on the hoardings surrounding the site?
A: Yes. The hoarding will provide the following information:
- Information on Health and Safety;
- Emergency contact numbers for the site team;
- Site notice board displaying monthly newsletters;
- Contact details and information for the Considerate Contractors scheme;
- Procedures to register any concerns or complaint;
- Licences granted for works on site.
